When you are ready to open his own business, there is a good chance you spend twice what they had budgeted. That may be the sad reality of a business riding on their own, but there are ways to curb some of these problems.
1. Free resources. In my experience I have seen that many things can be done for free, if you invest the time. Almost all secretaries of ministries of Latin American economics and business assistance programs offered to SMEs (small and medium enterprises). There are subsidized loans for business, free training programs for starting a business, etc..
Also, the chambers of commerce and local governments offer programs incubators. Take advantage of the material resources and offering free advice on all these units.
2. Move slowly. Gradually make their expenses not paid from the beginning. This way, you win when you open your business time to start generating some sales, which will give you the opportunity to put some money in your business before taking the next step. You may not see a benefit as soon as you wish, but you will find that spending less in the long term. (more…)
